I live in quite a small village in East Sussex. Inevitably, for some time our population has been growing, which has brought some advantages to what is essentially a rural community. By rural I mean that we have a great many more farms than shops near us, which seems to me as good a definition. Houses are going up everywhere. As are the prices of them. Our village school, once languishing, is now thriving. I wonder how many of the youngsters at that school will be able to stay in this village when they grow up?
