The British public have become increasingly disillusioned by politics and politicians.
This post gives is a list of ten ways in which we can exercise our democratic rights, alongside ten reasons why we should make the effort.
These lists are far from exhaustive, but I hope that they will include enough to make people think of what else they would add to them.

Voter turnout in the UK is particularly low, with just 35% voting in Thursday’s Euro elections. Some people are proposing the introduction of compulsory voting in the UK although this idea is clearly unpopular with many.
