Media & terrorism – something’s gotta give

The coverage of  recent events in the Middle East by Western media has been sensationalised in a manner that may be unhelpful in the fight against ISIL.   The relationship between the Western media and the terrorist organisations has to be changed so the media is utilised in a way that is helpful to bringing these conflicts to an end.

America votes on continued Middle East warfare

The longest war in American history is getting longer.

America is far and away the most active participant in the bombing campaigns against Daesh, also known as ISIS or the Islamic State.  After months of an aggressive campaign with the stated goal of destroying Daesh, the United States is considering formal declaration of hostilities.  Just as the combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan are ending and American involvement in the Middle East is decreasing a new deployment of force is on the horizon.
