When the media fails to challenge beliefs, democracy too will fail

Power of Media

By Lucette Davies

The media is powerful, it can be a force for good as well as bad.  But I see problems now in our democracy happening because of how our population is able to choose to only see news that does not challenge their political beliefs  People who are right wing can read media reports that never prove them wrong.  The misleading media reports that many  people read are left unchallenged. Image by BanditaBy Lucette Davies

This week is Invisible Illness Awareness Week and I wanted to write this post about some of the issues that are involved when a person is living with an invisible illness.

I have spent time looking at resources on the internet that discuss invisible illness but have decided to talk about my own experiences.

I think the whole issue of living with an invisible illness is hugely personal and affects a person on an emotional level, a list of statistics and medical information cannot tell the story adequately.
